Description
Original painting: Watercolor on paper, 8 × 10 in
Fog in the Hollow is a quiet, atmospheric rendering of a wooded landscape wrapped in morning mist. Charles Cherry evokes a sense of solitude and calm as a gentle creek winds its way through the base of the composition, reflecting subtle hints of light amid the soft earth tones. Fir trees rise like sentinels through a veil of fog, while sparse autumn leaves cling to brush and branches, their warmth contrasting the cool, diffused sky. Through delicate layering and fluid brushwork, Cherry captures the fragile beauty of a world paused in silence—where water moves softly and the forest holds its breath.
