Description
Original painting: Watercolor on paper, 15 × 11 in
Birch Glow depicts a quiet woodland scene where pale birch trunks rise alongside the shadowy forms of fir trees emerging near the top of the composition. Layered washes, soft edges, and textured passages blend representation with abstraction, allowing tree forms to merge with the surrounding atmosphere. Cool greens and blues contrast with bursts of warm yellow and gold, evoking the fleeting brilliance of autumn foliage against the steadfast presence of evergreen firs. The composition draws the viewer in to explore both the intricate detail and the luminous, ethereal transitions of color.
