Original painting: Watercolor on paper, 15 × 11 in
Harvest Sky captures the vast drama of sky meeting earth across a freshly tilled field. Charles Cherry uses rich ochres, rusts, and earthen textures to convey the rough energy of soil, carved with the deep furrows of recent labor. The horizon anchors a dynamic expanse of shifting clouds—part storm, part light—where a powerful column of white seems to rise like a blessing or omen. With expressive washes and dramatic vertical composition, Cherry turns this rural landscape into something monumental. A meditation on labor, weather, and open space, Harvest Sky reflects the solemn beauty of the land at rest under a restless sky.
